Buy for the finished size printed on your box, not the piece count on the front. A standard 1000 piece puzzle finishes around 68 x 49 cm and wants a little over 72 x 52 cm of usable surface. Panoramic puzzles are a different shape entirely and will hang off the end of every standard board, so measure before you buy.
