A dragon the size of a cathedral lying in an ice cave while dwarves forge weapons under its nose. Portrait format, and it is one of the densest fantasy images we stock.
The dragon fills the upper half: pale blue-white and armoured, horned, its head lowered and one enormous eye level with a small robed figure standing on a ledge holding a staff. Behind it, the cave roof hangs with icicles and stalactites, and a jagged opening on the right shows a moon and a snowfield outside.
Down the middle, a stone stair descends past the dragon's foreclaws, with more figures climbing it and a brazier burning beside them. At the bottom, the forge itself: three dwarves at an anvil with hammers, a fourth working bellows over a fire pit glowing orange, tongs, a barrel, ingots, and a fifth figure carrying a great sword up the steps. Clusters of pale crystal grow out of the rock everywhere, and a frozen waterfall spills down the right into a green-lit pool.
Two light sources and two colour worlds, and the split is the whole method. Everything above is cold: blue, white, lilac, moonlight. Everything at the forge is hot: orange, ember red, gold. Separate those before anything else and the puzzle divides itself in half.
Build the dragon's head and neck first, since it is the largest continuous form and it has hard armoured edges. Then the cave mouth, the only patch of open sky. Then the forge, where the fire gives you the only saturated colour in the picture. The crystal formations and the cave walls are the hard regions, textured blue-grey with low contrast, and they go in last by shape.
Cobble Hill are Canadian and cut a random cut: irregular shapes, no grid, no two the same. On a cave wall of near-identical blue rock, shape is what remains once colour has stopped helping. Linen print texture and a poster is included, which on a picture this dark and this detailed you will genuinely use.

Fantasy is one of the larger themes in the adult category and it divides fairly cleanly into character art, a single figure filling the frame, and world art like this, where the picture is a place with a lot going on in it. World art makes the better puzzle, because there is always somewhere else to work when you get stuck.
