A wall of flowers painted in colours that do not exist in a garden, with no sky, no horizon and no empty space anywhere. Every square centimetre is worked, which makes this a harder puzzle than it first looks and a better one to have on a table.

What you are looking at

Poppies and anemones filling the whole frame at different depths: coral, scarlet, hot pink, cream and gold, each with a dark speckled centre. Between them, leaves in deep teal, olive, purple and rust, painted flat with visible outlines. Behind everything, a pale blue-grey field scattered with hundreds of small painted dots, rings and seed shapes in yellow, red and green, so even the background is decorated.

The style is folk art rather than botanical: nothing is anatomically right, the colours are pushed hard, and the whole picture is deliberately flat with no light source at all.

What it is like to build

There is no easy region and no hard region, which is unusual. Most puzzles give you a gift somewhere and a punishment somewhere else. This one is uniformly dense, so progress is steady rather than lumpy.

Sort by shape, not by colour. The painter repeats a small vocabulary of forms: the open five-petal bloom, the tulip-shaped bud, the long pointed leaf, the round dotted seed head. Those four cover almost the whole picture and they are far more distinguishable at piece scale than the colours, which recur everywhere. The dotted background is the closest thing to a difficult area, and even that carries a pattern you can phase-match.

Why the Cobble Hill cut is different

Cobble Hill are Canadian and cut a random cut: irregular shapes, no grid, no two the same. On a flat decorative image with no depth cues at all, shape is doing more work than usual. Linen print texture, poster included. A random cut does not count out into tidy rows.

A little context

Flowers and gardens is a seam we deliberately go deep on, and within it the split that matters is photographic versus painted. A photograph of a flower bed is a hundred shades of the same green. A painting like this pushes the colours apart on purpose, which makes it look harder and build easier. Derived from multiple public data sources across retail, search and community platforms, refreshed 31 August 2026.
