Cobble Hill - Farm Country 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

What you are looking at

A rutted double-track lane coming toward you down the left of the frame, with a red mailbox on a post beside it. What it is like to build

Buildings first, obviously, because they are the only straight lines. The white farmhouse and the red barn are the two strongest blocks in the picture and they fix the middle band. Then the track, which is a pale ribbon running through green.

The meadow is where the evening goes. Several hundred pieces of mixed pink, yellow and green at the same scale with no structure. The way in is density rather than colour: the flowers thin out and the grass lengthens as the meadow recedes, so sort by how much green shows between the blooms and place from the fence line forward. The animals are worth hunting early, because each one is a small landmark inside an otherwise featureless region.
