A bookcase in which every single title is a cat pun, and ten kittens have got in among the shelves. You will spend as long reading it as building it, which is the point.
A dark timber bookcase divided into a grid of compartments, packed with hundreds of book spines in every colour. The titles are the joke: A Tail of Two Kitties, Cat Calls, Cathartic, Tails of Woe, Great Expecatations, Days in Catmandu, The Cat in the Hat, Purride and Prejudice, Yes the Cat Ate My Homework, Silence of the Lambs, and a full run down the bottom shelf of Meet the Siamese, Meet the Persian, Meet the Maine Coon, Meet the Sphynx, Meet the Abyssinian, Meet the Bobtail, Meet the Balinese, Meet the Bombay.
Among them: a tabby lying along the top shelf, a fluffy grey kitten sitting up on the right, a siamese and a white kitten stretched along the middle shelves, a ginger and a white one peering over a row of spines, a black and white cat sitting on the bottom shelf with its paw raised, and a tail disappearing out of frame bottom right. Also a blue and white vase, a brass birdcage, a framed kitten photograph, a wall calendar and a gold maneki-neko lucky cat.
The shelving is your grid, so build it first. The dark timber uprights and shelf edges are the only hard straight lines and they cut the picture into about a dozen compartments. Once that skeleton is down, every remaining piece belongs in one box rather than one of a thousand.
Then read your way through it. Any piece with legible lettering can be placed almost immediately, and on this picture that is most of them. The cats are the easiest objects, being the only fur in a picture of flat rectangles. The genuinely hard pieces are the plain spines, blocks of single colour with no type, and they go in last by shape.
Cobble Hill are Canadian and cut a random cut: irregular shapes, no grid, no two the same. On a picture that is literally made of repeating rectangles, that irregularity is worth a great deal. Linen print texture, poster included, and a random cut does not count out into rows.

Bookshelf puzzles are their own established sub-genre and they are among the most recommendable things in the shop, because the lettering means almost every piece carries unique information. If somebody has been defeated by a sky, hand them a bookshelf. Derived from multiple public data sources across retail, search and community platforms, refreshed 31 August 2026.
