Eurographics - Cups, Cakes & Company 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

A patisserie with two windows full of cake, a pink bicycle against the wall and two cats arguing on the doorstep. Almost every square centimetre carries something, which makes it dense but genuinely easy going.

What you are looking at

A shopfront under a pink and blue striped awning with CUPS, CAKES & COMPANY hand-lettered across the fascia in blue. Two brass lanterns either side, a hanging lamp over the door, and stained glass panels in coloured squares above both windows. Hanging baskets and window boxes of petunias, pansies and geraniums everywhere, with butterflies and small birds among them, and a tabby cat in an upstairs window.

What it is like to build

Sort by material, not by region. There are really five families here: striped awning, flowers, cake, glass and tile. Each has a distinct texture and they barely overlap, so five piles gets you most of the way.

The awning is the best starting point, a bold repeating pink and blue stripe running the full width. Then the lettering, which is unmistakable. Then the two windows, one cake at a time. The blue and white floor tiles are the only repeating pattern and the only place you can properly stall, so leave them until the shopfront above is solid.
