Eurographics - Evening at the Barnyard Puzzle 1000pc

What you are looking at

A rutted farm track running away from you between two flowerbeds towards a red timber barn with its doors open. A blue and white tractor turning in from the right with the farmer up on it. Three sheep grazing in front of the barn, two hens on the track, a rooster in the bottom left, and ducks on a puddle to the right. A white gabled farmhouse in the middle distance on the left with a paddock and horses beyond it. What it is like to build

The barn is the anchor. It is the only large mass of saturated red in the picture, with hard architectural edges, and it sits dead centre. Build the border, build the barn, then the tractor, which is the only white and blue in the frame.

The two trees are the hard part, and they are hard differently. The scarlet canopy on the right is thousands of small red leaves against a bright sky, so sort those pieces by how much sky shows through. The green canopy on the left has less internal contrast and should be left for the end. The flowerbeds are dense but forgiving, because each flower type is a different colour. Do not underestimate the track, which is mud, water and reflection, and is the lowest contrast region in the whole picture.
