Gibsons - Dublin Calling 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Every landmark in Dublin, cut out and stacked into one impossible skyline. It is a collage rather than a view, which makes it a completely different build from a normal cityscape and a much easier one.

Working roughly from the back: the Aviva Stadium with its curved glass roof, Croke Park, the Four Courts dome, the Custom House, Dublin Castle, the Wellington Testimonial obelisk, the Spire, Christ Church, the Ha'penny Bridge, the Samuel Beckett Bridge, the Ha'penny's cast iron arch, the Guinness Storehouse gate, the Dublin Zoo sign, and the long barrel-vaulted roof of a market arcade.

Down at street level: the red frontage of the Temple Bar with musicians outside playing fiddle, guitar and bodhran. The Molly Malone statue with her barrow, cockles and mussels. What it is like to build

A collage has no perspective and no shared light, so each element is its own island. That is the whole strategy: identify a landmark, find its pieces by colour and material, finish it, and set it in place. Stone, brick, glass and grass are four different textures and they barely mix.

Do the strongly coloured objects first. The red Temple Bar frontage, the green bus, the dancers' costumes and the tricolour are the highest contrast things in the picture. The buildings are mostly grey and cream and they go in second. The sky is the only large plain area and it is small, so there is nowhere in this puzzle you can genuinely stall.
