Gibsons - Village Celebrations Puzzle 4 x 500pc

What you are looking at

Harvest Festival: a shire horse and a loaded dray outside the lychgate, trestle tables of vegetables and fruit, a striped market awning, the church tower behind. May Day: children plaiting the maypole ribbons on the green, bunting strung between the cottages, hay bales for seating, a marquee at the back. Bonfire Night: a proper bonfire going up against a black sky, fireworks over the church spire, sparklers and toffee apples and the whole crowd lit orange from one side. Christmas: snow on the ground, a lit tree in the square, carol singers with lanterns, a red pillar box and a band playing.

What it is like to build

Four 500s is a genuinely different product from one 2000. Each box finishes in an evening, each one is a complete picture, and you can start a second without clearing the first if you have the table. It is also the right thing to hand to two people who want to build at the same time without arguing.

Bonfire Night is by some distance the hardest of the four. It is a night scene, so half the pieces are dark with a single orange highlight, and there is no sky detail at all. Christmas is second hardest for the same reason, a lot of white snow and dark sky. May Day and Harvest are both bright daylight scenes with strong colour separation and will go quickly. Do them in that order and you will finish the box.

Gibsons have been British since 1919 and print on 100% recycled board, thick enough that the pieces do not curl.
