Wasgij - Retro Original 6: Blooming Marvelous 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Which Wasgij is this

In an Original you build the scene from one character's point of view, which appears nowhere on the packaging. Here the instruction is to puzzle what the neighbour sees, and he is the man on the side of the box in the striped shirt, mid-outrage.

Retro is Jumbo's reissue line, subtitled "where it all began", which brings back early numbers that had gone out of print.

What is on the box

What it is like to build

Sort by colour family and by line, because you have no reference for the solved picture. Skin tones, the green of the lawn and hedges, the brown of the fence, and the strong block colours of the clothing. Wasgij art is heavy black outline over flat fill, so any piece carrying a line is worth several that do not.

The fence across the foreground is your best single feature, a strong horizontal band of brown vertical boards running the full width. Build it early. Expect longer than a standard 1000 and a better payoff at the end.

Wasgij is the clearest example in this category of a puzzle sold on a mechanic rather than a picture, which is why the strands matter: somebody who loves Original may not enjoy Destiny at all.
