Alexanderplatz at dusk, shot on a long exposure so the trams have smeared into ribbons of yellow light. Not the Brandenburg Gate, not the Wall. The square where Berliners actually change trains.
On the left, the Fernsehturm, the television tower, its steel sphere catching the last light and its red and white mast running up out of the frame. In the centre, the Weltzeituhr, the World Clock: a rotating steel armillary of planets above a drum listing the world's time zones in yellow and blue, standing on a compass rose set into the paving. On the right, the blue glass slab of the Park Inn tower. Behind, the barrel-vaulted glass roof of the Alexanderplatz station hall with its illuminated sign, and a 1930s brick office block in the middle.
Across the bottom, two yellow trams have been reduced to pure horizontal streaks by the exposure. Bicycles racked on the right, a cafe umbrella on the left, and a wide empty plaza between them under a sky going from warm gold at the horizon to soft blue above.
The World Clock is the best thing in the box and you should build it first. It is dense, circular, brightly coloured and completely unlike anything else in the picture, so it comes together fast and it pins the centre.
Then the three towers, each a distinct silhouette and material: concrete, blue glass, brick. The paving is the campaign. The bottom third is a wide expanse of pinkish-grey plaza with almost no feature except the compass inlay, and it goes in by shape. The sky is the same job at the other end, sorted by tone.
Ravensburger have been in Ravensburg since 1883 and still make their puzzles in Germany. In a 1000 piece, no two pieces share the same shape, and across several hundred pieces of plain paving that is very close to the only signal you have. Thick board, linen-textured low-glare laminate.

Most European city puzzles are the same half-dozen postcard views. A city puzzle that picks a working square rather than a monument is bought by somebody who has stood in it, and that is a different and more loyal buyer. Derived from multiple public data sources across retail, search and community platforms, refreshed 31 August 2026.
