What you are looking at

The two sisters facing each other in three-quarter profile against a deep blue ground. Elsa on the left in the white gown from the end of Frozen II, her hair loose and pale, the dress patterned with pale blue diamonds and a translucent cape falling from her shoulders. Anna on the right in the black and gold travelling coat with the rust-brown collar, auburn hair over one shoulder. Between and around them, drifts of glittering ice crystals in long looping arcs, and individual six-armed snowflakes scattered across the whole picture. What it is like to build

The two figures are the entire structure and they are easy. Elsa's white dress and Anna's black coat are the two strongest values in the picture and they occupy most of it, so sorting is close to automatic: white pile, black pile, blue pile.

The blue background is the only work. It is dark, it fills the middle and the corners, and it carries the sparkle. Sort those pieces by how much crystal they contain: heavily sparkled pieces belong in the arcs behind the hands, plain deep blue belongs at the edges. At 500 pieces this is a comfortable evening.

The glow, and how to actually get it working

The ink is phosphorescent, which means it is charged by light rather than powered by anything. Give the finished puzzle ten or fifteen minutes under a bright lamp or in daylight before you switch off, and the snowflakes and the ice trails will hold a pale green-blue glow for a good while afterwards. A quick flick of the light switch will not do it. The effect fades as the charge runs down, and recharges every time the lights go back on.

Why the Ravensburger cut matters here

No two pieces share a shape, and the linen-textured, low-glare laminate matters on an image with this much glitter, because gloss over sparkle under a lamp is genuinely hard to look at.
