Ravensburger - Disney Moments 1942 Bambi 1000 Piece Puzzle

Bambi, Thumper and Flower in a field of daisies, with a strip of film from the 1942 picture curling across the sky above them. One of the Disney Collector's Edition moments, and the film strip is not decoration, it is roughly forty separate frames you have to build.

What you are looking at

Three characters in a spring clearing. Bambi standing centre, head turned, one ear up. Thumper on his back in the flowers on the left, mid-laugh, one foot in the air. Flower the skunk on the right, half tucked into the daisies with his eyes closed and a bashful expression. A branch of pink blossom overhead, a yellow butterfly, and a deep green forest behind. Across the top, a 35 mm film strip loops through a starfield, carrying scenes from the film in miniature, starting with the original title card on the left.

What it is like to build

The film strip is the best part and the hardest. Each frame is only a few pieces across, the sprocket holes give you a strong repeating rhythm that helps you find the strip itself, and then every individual frame is a different picture. Build the strip as a long chain rather than trying to place frames into position: get the sprocket edges linked and the sequence sorts itself.

The daisies are the grind. The bottom third is several hundred white flowers with yellow centres at the same scale and no perspective cue. Sort them by how much green shows between the petals, because the density changes as the field recedes. The three characters are easy, high contrast and quick. The starfield behind the film strip is the last job and it goes in by shape.

Why the Ravensburger cut matters here

Ravensburger have made puzzles in Germany since 1891 and use Softclick technology, which means a piece seats with a click you can feel and does not sit half-in. No two pieces in a 1000 piece share a shape. On a field of identical daisies that is not a nicety, it is the mechanism that stops you building a wrong section and only discovering it forty pieces later.

A little context

The Collector's Edition moments are dated by film year on the box, which turns the range into a chronology rather than a catalogue, and people collect them that way. The early numbers are the 1930s and 1940s features and they are the ones that disappear first. Derived from multiple public data sources across retail, search and community platforms, refreshed 31 August 2026.
