Wasgij - Mystery 23: Pooch Parlour 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

The picture on the box is not the puzzle. In a Mystery you build what happens next, and a dog grooming salon is an excellent place for things to go wrong.

Which Wasgij is this

In a Mystery you build the moments after the box scene. In an Original you build what a character can see. In a Destiny you build the same place at another time. The character on the side of the box, a groomer in an apron holding a very fluffy white dog, is whose next few seconds you are building.

What is on the box

A busy grooming salon in warm yellow and cream. On the right, a large tattooed groomer in a floral shirt running clippers over a lhasa apso on a raised table, with a hairdryer, treats and a bag of DOG CARE COMPANY food beside him. In the middle, a woman in a spotted apron working on a schnauzer that is shedding onto a table already deep in clippings, a pink bucket underneath and more hair on the tiled floor.

At the back, a wash station where someone is soaping a very lathered dog, a fridge, towels on a rail, and mirrors reflecting the whole room. Along the left, a waiting area with a green bench, customers holding small dogs, a shaggy grey dog straining at its lead, a cat on a windowsill, and a magazine on the floor. Posters of groomed dogs on every wall.

What it is like to build

Sort by colour family and by line. With no reference picture, grouping replaces the image: skin tones, the pale yellow walls, the checkerboard tiling, and the block colours of the aprons and clothes. Wasgij art is heavy black outline over flat fill, so any piece carrying a line is worth several that do not.

The tiled floor is your best structural feature, a hard repeating grid running across the bottom third. Build the border, then the floor, then work upward. Expect longer than a standard 1000 and a better payoff.
