QPuzzles

A Ken Duncan panorama, which is a name worth knowing: he is the photographer who made the wide Australian landscape format famous, and this is one of his celebration scenes cut at 2.7:1. Photographic puzzles give you a different kind of difficulty to illustration,...

A superb lyrebird in full display on a mossy log, 1000 pieces and 70 x 50 cm finished. Australian made, cut and boxed in Queensland. What you are looking at A male superb lyrebird standing on a fallen log with his tail thrown forward...

Banksia, bottlebrush, grevillea, waratah, wattle and eucalyptus in one illustrated botanical study. These are the flowers most Australians can name on sight and almost never see drawn properly, and putting them in a single frame makes the point that our natives look nothing like...

A massed wildflower image, filled edge to edge with colour and no easy landmarks in it. If you like a puzzle that makes you work by shape and tone rather than by picture, this is that puzzle.Digitally created artwork, printed and cut in Queensland.Key...

Melbourne's most recognisable building, the ochre facade and the row of clocks under which half the city has arranged to meet. A good one for anyone with a Melbourne connection, and the architectural detail gives the 260 pieces more to hold onto than the...

The Twelve Apostles at sunset, on 260 pieces and 48 x 34 cm finished. Australian made, from the photograph to the cut, and small enough to finish in an evening. What you are looking at The limestone sea stacks off Port Campbell on Victoria's...

Uluru and Kata Tjuta across a 2.7:1 panorama, which is the only sensible shape for that country. A conventional rectangle crops the horizon and loses the point. At 940mm wide this one keeps the scale, and the red centre gives you long stretches of...

Magpies at the bird bath, waiting their turn, by Natalie Jane Parker, whose Australian wildlife painting is about as good as this genre gets here. The only 1000-piece title in this first QPuzzles delivery and the one for a serious puzzler who wants an...

Yamba on the northern New South Wales coast, headland and beach in the light people move there for. A quieter subject than the landmarks, and the sort of thing that sells to someone who holidayed there rather than someone collecting icons.Artwork by Jaime Dormer....
