What you are looking at

What it is like to build

Build the car first and it is genuinely the easy part. It is the only large saturated blue mass, it has hard panel lines and chrome, and the painted daisies are individually distinct.

Then the shack, the only thatch and timber texture. Then the striped sails and the signpost, which carry the only lettering. The sand and the sky are the two hard fields, both pale, smooth and low contrast, together covering perhaps a third of the picture. Sort the sand by whether a piece carries a shadow, a footprint or beach grass, and the sky by tone, and place both last.
